Very Jammy Heart Biscuits

A perfect sweet, buttery and melt in the mouth Very Jammy Biscuit!

We used our tangy Damson and Orange luxury preserve but these can be made using your favourite ruby red preserve.

Preparation time: 40 minutes

Cooking time: 15 minutes

Makes 20-24 biscuits

Ingredients

250g soft Butter

100g Caster Sugar

350g Plain Flour

2 x tbsp Milk

100g of Black Mountains Preserves Damson & Orange Jam

Icing Sugar to dust

Method

1. Heat the oven to 180.

2. Cream the softened butter, caster sugar until light & fluffy

3. Sieve in the flour and add the milk gradually - you may not need it all.

4. Bring the dough together lightly with your hands into a ball

5. Wrap the dough in cling-film and leave to chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.

6. Line a couple of baking trays with parchment paper

7. Dust a little extra flour onto your work surface and roll out half of the dough until it is approx. 3mm in thickness

8. Gather up any loose leftover dough and add to the remaining half.

9. Cut out more hearts and this time cut out smaller hearts in the middle of the tops - a good idea to count your biscuits before you do this to make sure you have an even amount.

10. Repeat until you have used up all the dough.

11. Transfer the biscuits onto the lined trays and bake for approx. 12 minutes.

12. Once they are a light golden colour, remove and transfer onto a cooling rack - they will be slightly soft to touch

13. Allow to cool. Spread Black Mountains Preserves Damson & Orange Jam (or your favourite ruby red jam!) onto the whole biscuit shapes and place a cut-out heart shape on top, press down gently

14. Dust with icing sugar and serve. Alternatively these make an ideal present for you to gift wrap with your loved ones!

Enjoy x
